Hrimfare have been protected with the EDL Fire, Gas and Bilge alarm panel for many years and was now upgraded with the new model for reliable use in many years to come. Firefly
Firefly batteries represent probably the safest option of high efficient batteries available. The carbon foam lead chemistry is almost as efficient as lithium batteries, and inherently safe to battery fire hazards. Hrimfare is a test and demo plattform for Firefly carbon foam batteries.

Anti-slip mats have always been a high-priority on all Global Challenge Yachts for good grip on deck to protect crew members in all conditions – wet and cold. Hrimfare is now mounting new, great anti-slip mats on the deck and cockpit in partnership with GISATEX.

Newmar Power was the original supplier of the DC distribution switch fuse panels for the Challenge 67 back in 1991. They have functioned for more than 30 years, sailed four times around the world, and been trusted during hundreds of thousands of nautical miles in the harshest conditions. When we told Newmar Sweden about this, they kindly offered to replace the panels to serve us for another thirty years...

Raymarine
The Premium Partnership with Raymarine is truly exciting. They did equip the yachts with advanced navigation equipment when they were built back in the early 1990s. Hrimfare has furthermore sailed with an integrated Raymarine system, flawlessly for the last 15 years. Now Raymarine has again generously initiated an upgrade of the system onboard to a state-of-the-art marine navigation, communication, and sensor electronics network. Additionally, the Raymarine multifunction display computers and Lighthouse OS are the interface hub for several other partners' equipment. Together, we are developing ways of using, and keeping, sailboat sensor data for the global ocean observing system benefit.
Rheinstrom
We are grateful for our great toilets onboard. Rheinstrom toilets have been trusted onboard since back in the 1990s and brand new ones are now being installed. The model Y4s are made of seawater-resistant materials. Rheinstrom is also active ashore by developing and installing reliable sewage pumping stations along our coastlines and marinas.

Hrimfare has always been hand-steered, but with a short-handed crew on some stretches, an autopilot can be a relief. However, to steer a 40-ton yacht, at 13 knots boat speed requires a very strong autopilot. Sleipner has a heavy-duty hydraulic autopilot cylinder that is perfectly designed for yachts like Hrimfare. With Sleipner's autopilot and bow thruster, integrated with our control system delivered by Raymarine, we have found the perfect partnership match.

(Paralell double fuel filter for reduncancy operation) Separ America LLC (separfilter.com) To have cleaned fuel for the main engine is a primary reliability factor at sea. The Separ filtration devices has been fitted to the Challenge yachts from the beginning. Now Hrimfare has been upgraded with the twin parallel filtration system that allow redundancy and continuous operation to switch to the other filter while the dirty is being changed.

Safety is key to all of Hrimfare's operations. The sea is often full of hidden dangers, including submerged ropes and nets, and to avoid the dangers of an entangled propeller, we have mounted a propeller rope cutter, with support from the manufacturer Spurs.

Top-quality breathing protection when working with sanding or varnish.
SUTARS & Skyllemarks
We have ripped out and replaced all the cables from 1991 when Hrimfare was built. An entirely new electric cable run with high-quality tinned copper cables from Skyllermarks kabel network is re-installed. That is more than one kilometer of cable and adding more than a hundred kilos to the weight.

Professional partner when mixing color pigments to reach the right color of paint for our graphical design profile on our hull.
Windex
We are proud to crown our yacht with the classical wind direction indicator, invented by Swedish sailor Sven-Olof Ridder back in 1964. Hrimfare is sailing with the XL Super Yacht model.
