SEA-AI
Sailing around the big ocean knowing we have a SEA.AI thermal+high resolution visual camera system at the masthead looking forward and with an artificial intelligence object detection and collision avoidance warning system as an extra lookout for us at all times, is a relief. Other vessels, floating trash, and containers that have fallen off container ships or icebergs can be detected and alerted for on our Raymarine displays.

The family business BIKAB manufactures all your needs in stainless steel and aluminum, and is, for example, a long-term supplier to Hallberg-Rassy and the Swedish Sea Rescue Society. Survitec is a global supplier of life-saving appliances from life rafts to life vests and emergency beacons (EPIRB and PLB), and has been a valuable partner of Hrimfare.
Daniamant
Danimant is an advanced LED-based supplier of life-saving lights and strobes, as a supplement to pyrotechnics onboard Hrimfare. Danimant has also supported Hrimfare with a Forward Looking Sonar (Echopilot FLS3D), which will be very valuable when sailing in poorly charted waters included in our expedition plans.

Kungshamns Båtservice

LopoLight
The story of Lopolight is amazing. The founder Jan Møller is a single-handed circumnavigation sailor who after finishing the Veendee Globe Race, started his company to invent and manufacture LED-based navigation lights, for yachts and ships. The company is now a world-leading supplier of anything from small boats to superyachts, cargo ships, and military navies. We are so grateful that Jan and his company appreciated Sailing4Science with Hrimfare and supports us with Lopolight navigation lights. An additional feature is that Lopolight and Raymarine are offering nav light control from the MFD touch screens.
Mastervolt
Mastervolt is a leading producer of integrated systems in maritime electric power (charging, storage, and distribution), and was the first choice to go to for Hrimfare's renewable energy power system. We are grateful for Mastervolts guidance and support.
Newmar
Newmar Power was the original supplier of the DC distribution switch fuse panels for the Challenge 67 back in 1991. They have functioned for more than 30 years, sailed four times around the world, and been trusted during hundreds of thousands of nautical miles in the harshest conditions. When we told Newmar Sweden about this, they kindly offered to replace the panels to serve us for another thirty years...
Proople
PROOPLE – PROtecting PeOPLE – was the original supplier of the non-skid mats on all Global Challenge Yachts and Clipper Race yachts for good grip on deck to protect crew members in all conditions, wet and cold. Hrimfare is now mounting new nonskid mats on deck in partnership with PROOPLE.
Raymarine
The Premium Partnership with Raymarine is truly exciting. They did equip the yachts with advanced navigation equipment when they were built back in the early 1990s. Hrimfare has furthermore sailed with an integrated Raymarine system, flawlessly for the last 15 years. Now Raymarine has again generously initiated an upgrade of the system onboard to a state-of-the-art marine navigation, communication, and sensor electronics network. Additionally, the Raymarine multifunction display computers and Lighthouse OS are the interface hub for several other partners' equipment. Together, we are developing ways of using, and keeping, sailboat sensor data for the global ocean observing system benefit.
Rheinstrom
We are grateful for our great toilets onboard. Rheinstrom toilets have been trusted onboard since back in the 1990s and brand new ones are now being installed. The model Y4s are made of seawater-resistant materials. Rheinstrom is also active ashore by developing and installing reliable sewage pumping stations along our coastlines and marinas.
Sleipner
Hrimfare has always been hand-steered, but with a short-handed crew on some stretches, an autopilot can be a relief. However, to steer a 40-ton yacht, at 13 knots boat speed requires a very strong autopilot. Sleipner has a heavy-duty hydraulic autopilot cylinder that is perfectly designed for yachts like Hrimfare. With Sleipner's autopilot and bow thruster, integrated with our control system delivered by Raymarine, we have found the perfect partnership match.

We are proud and pleased to consider Stenungsbaden our home base in Sweden. SuperWind
The renewable energy system on Hrimfare is redundant from different energy sources, where the wind is an important one. SuperWind which is considered the premium yacht industry wind generator leader, has provided us with two 350 watt turbines, mounted on our stainless steel frame on the transom.

Timage delivers high-quality yacht fittings and our range of deck hardware is the core collection and where the business first began. The coolest thing is that Timage produces original iconic Challenge yacht's metal hardware – in polished chrome, plated brass, and stainless steel. For anyone not owning a Challenge steel yacht, you will find a collection of cleats and fairleads, deck sockets, drains, rowlocks, and much more in most yacht equipment stores around the world.

Vetus has supported Hrimfare with the most efficient engine room sound insulation. Noise pollution is a major problem for marine wildlife, and when studying them in their natural habitat, it is important to cause minimum disturbance.

When we were replacing the sea pipes and seacocks (the ball valves that separate the ocean from the inside of the boat, we chose the best bronze ball valves on the planet for a long-term partnership. The Groco ball valves have a grease nipple and can be drained for winterization.

For the new upholstery of the saloon, we looked at the regional high-quality textiles and sustainable materials, and Ludvig Svensson, a Swedish commercial furniture upholstery textile manufacturer, kindly offered to support us with the most gorgeous wool-based cloth.

In an emergency person overboard situation, recovery of the POB in a safe and efficient manner is critical. For that, a safety cradle net is the best method. Markus Lifenet from Iceland kindly supported us with equipment for this task.

PropDefender
Hrimfare has been an experimental platform for various biocide-free bottom paints over the last decade and provided feedback to paint manufacturers. Now we are supported by PropDefender to evaluate their biocide-free propeller paint in the waters we will sail.
Scanmar
Scanmar was founded by the Swedish long-distance sailor Hans Bernwall, who invented the Monitor Windvane that many sailors have praised for its performance and reliability. The monitor was fitted to Sam Brewsters Challenge 67’ solo circumnavigation, and now also to the Hrimfare for long passages and mechanical alternative to the electrical autopilot.
SeparFilter
(Paralell double fuel filter for reduncancy operation) Separ America LLC (separfilter.com) To have cleaned fuel for the main engine is a primary reliability factor at sea. The Separ filtration devices has been fitted to the Challenge yachts from the beginning. Now Hrimfare has been upgraded with the twin parallel filtration system that allow redundancy and continuous operation to switch to the other filter while the dirty is being changed.
Skyllermarks Kabel (SUTARS)
We have ripped out and replaced all the cables from 1991 when Hrimfare was built. An entirely new electric cable run with high-quality tinned copper cables from Skyllermarks kabel network is re-installed. That is more than one kilometer of cable and adding more than a hundred kilos to the weight.
Spurs
Safety is key to all of Hrimfare's operations. The sea is often full of hidden dangers, including submerged ropes and nets, and to avoid the dangers of an entangled propeller, we have mounted a propeller rope cutter, with support from the manufacturer Spurs.
Sundstrom
Top-quality breathing protection when working with sanding or varnish.
Tinter
Professional partner when mixing color pigments to reach the right color of paint for our graphical design profile on our hull.

We are proud to crown our yacht with the classical wind direction indicator, invented by Swedish sailor Sven-Olof Ridder back in 1964. Hrimfare is sailing with the XL Super Yacht model.
